Karen Butt's research is at the intersection of smooth dynamics and differential geometry. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, she was an NSF postdoctoral fellow and L.E. Dickson Instructor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago, mentored by Amie Wilkinson. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2023 under the direction of Ralf Spatzier.
