Gregory Patchell

Gregory Patchell is a Canadian mathematician working in operator algebras and interactions with geometric group theory, quantum theory, and functional analysis. He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Waterloo in 2019, where he was mentored by Matt Kennedy. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of California, San Diego in 2025 under the supervision of Adrian Ioana. From 2025 to 2026 Patchell was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Oxford, supervised by Stuart White and Dawid Kielak. While at Oxford, he was also a stipendiary lecturer at Balliol College.
