Studio VU welcomes The Little Friends of Printmaking to Art Dept, March 2024

The Studio VU Lecture Series 2023-2024 and the Vanderbilt University Department of Art is pleased to announce the next visiting artist to the Vanderbilt campus.  The Little Friends of Printmaking, the art collective will be on campus March 26-29, 2024 working with students in the EBI Studio Arts Center.

An artist talk is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:30PM in Buttrick Hall Room 103.  A live screenprinting workshop will occur  over the two days of March 27-28 in the EBI Studio Arts Center Room 314.

JW and Melissa Buchanan are The Little Friends of Printmaking, a married duo of printmakers, illustrators, & designers living in Pasadena, California. For nearly twenty years, The Little Friends have been hand-printing bright and colorful silkscreened prints and posters, becoming masters in their field. Their clients include Disney, FX, Nike, and Cartoon Network. The Little Friends are ADC Young Guns honorees and have won awards from American Illustration, Print Magazine, and Communication Arts. In addition to their work as illustrators and designers, they continue their fine art pursuits through exhibitions, lectures and artists’ residencies worldwide, spreading the gospel of silkscreen to anyone inclined to listen.
