Advising Holds
You may have a hold of one kind or another on your record at different points in the semester, which will prevent you from registering for classes. You can determine the kinds of holds on your record by checking the Holds section in YES. Here you can also find out how to have the hold(s) lifted and whom to contact with questions.
Each semester you will have an Adviser Approval Hold. In order to have it lifted and be able to register for classes, you will need to meet with your academic adviser and discuss your academic plans for the following semester. The Adviser Approval Hold is the only hold that your pre-major adviser can release.
