Nicole Hemmer, Director
Nicole Hemmer is a political historian specializing in media, conservatism, and the presidency. Her scholarship and teaching focus on the interplay of social movements, electoral politics, and political culture in order to probe the complexities of political identity and practice in the 20th century United States.
She is the director of the Carolyn T. and Robert M. Rogers Center for the American Presidency and associate professor of history.
John Dearborn, Rogers Center Faculty Fellow
John Dearborn's research and teaching interests include the presidency, Congress, American political development, American political thought, and archival methods.
He is the Carolyn T. and Robert M. Rogers Dean's Faculty Fellow in Political Science and assistant professor of political science.
Madeline Fry, Administrative Specialist
Maddie Fry began their position as the administrative specialist for the Rogers Center in June 2023. Maddie also splits their time with the Vanderbilt Project on Unity and American Democracy. Fry graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carleton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and anthropology in June 2023 and has a background in community engagement and food justice work.
As the administrative specialist for the Vanderbilt Project on Unity and American Democracy and the Rogers Center for the American Presidency, Maddie Fry provides day-to-day administrative support to both programs’ events and initiatives.
