Marcy Binkley, DBA, CPA, is a Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years of experience in the profession and academia. Binkley began her career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, providing assurance services to firms in the healthcare industry. She then spent several years at Genesco in both internal audit and corporate accounting positions. Most recently, Binkley held a faculty appointment as an assistant professor of accounting at Lipscomb University. Over her six-year tenure at Lipscomb, she served as director of the Master of Accounting Program and led university-wide initiatives, including the Women in Business course creation. Binkley’s research interests include accounting information systems, emerging technology, and analytics. Her research has been published in journals, such as the Journal of Accounting and Finance, and presented at multiple international academic conferences. Binkley earned her bachelor’s degree from Harding University (finance), her master of accountancy degree from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and her doctor of business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
