Heuijung Hur
Senior Lecturer in Asian Studies
Dr. Heuijung Hur is a Lecturer of Korean Language in the Department of Asian Studies at Vanderbilt University, where she teaches elementary and intermediate Korean courses. She earned her Ph.D. in Korean Language and Linguistics from Yonsei University, with a dissertation focusing on native language identification of Korean learners' writing. Dr. Hur's research expertise lies at the intersection of Korean language education, corpus linguistics, and computational linguistics. Her work explores how modern technologies can enhance language learning and linguistic analysis, particularly in the context of Korean as a foreign language.

I teach Korean language, with a special interest in writing in L2. For the research, I'm drawn to applying modern day technologies to linguistics.
