Professor Mertus shared from her wealth of experience working with nongovernmental and intergovernmental organizations including UNHCR, Women Waging Peace, and OXFAM on human rights and humanitarian issues in regions including the former Yugoslavia, Vietnam, China, and South Africa. Her research focuses on human rights, U.S. foreign policy, humanitarian law and policy, and gender and conflict.
