Ismail Kurun

Graduate Student

I am a 3rd-year student in the Philosophy PhD program. My primary research interests lie in social and political philosophy and medieval (esp. Islamic) philosophy. My research is often interdisciplinary, bringing social science to bear on philosophical questions. I am currently developing a dissertation project in political epistemology. 

 

My broader interests span ethics, social epistemology, ancient philosophy, pragmatism, empiricism, early modern philosophy, philosophy of science, and the history of analytic philosophy. My MA thesis explored the medieval origins of liberalism.
