Tejas Mahesh

Undergraduate researcher

Tejas studies relativistic lensing and boosting of light emitted from disks of gas encircling each black hole in a massive black-hole binary system. The binary motion at relativistic speeds creates periodic flux modulations that can be used to search for the presence and characteristics of a binary in quasar lightcurves. Tejas has built an independent Bayesian pipeline to carry out these analyses and is working towards embedding it within realistic AGN variability scenarios.
