René Millán, lecturer in acting, holds an MFA in acting from the University of Washington School of Drama in Sea@le and a BA from the University of Redlands in Southern California. He has been a guest teacher of ac0ng and Suzuki inspired movement at the Yale School of Drama (Beinecke Fellow), Syracuse University, Sea@le University, Vanderbilt University, Southern Oregon University, and the University of Redlands. He is also a teaching ar0st for the Nashville Shakespeare Fes0val, Actors Bridge Ensemble and The Theater Bug.

He appeared on Broadway in The Wild Party directed by George C. Wolfe. In seven seasons as an ac0ng company member of the Oregon Shakespeare Fes0val notable roles include Angelo in Measure for Measure , the Bastard in King John , Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Palo in Gibraltar, the Tiger in Tracy’s Tiger, Juan José in American Night: The Ballad of Juan José, a role he also performed at the La Jolla Playhouse, Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles and the Yale Repertory Theatre .

René teaches and coaches ac0ng through Millán Ac0ng Studio. He is a 2022 playwrigh0ng fellow for the Tennessee Playwrights Studio where he is devising a new piece exploring themes of culture, La0no/a/e/x iden0ty, ancestral grief and genera0onal trauma. He also has a new performance piece and film in development based on the ar0st Marbn Ramírez.
