Phillip Franck

Phillip Franck has served as Theatre’s resident set, lighting, and audio designer since 1998. He holds a BA in Communications and Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Scenography from the University of Puget Sound and an MFA in Theatrical Design with emphases in Lighting and Scenic Design from Northwestern University.

Phillip is an accomplished lighting designer with over 150 productions to his credit in professional and academic venues. In Nashville, he is an Associate Artist with Nashville Repertory Theatre; he has designed lighting and occasionally sound for the company since 1999. Additionally, Phillip designs regularly for American Stage Theatre Company in St. Petersburg, Florida. He teaches Scenic Design, Lighting Design, Theatre Management, and a first year seminar: Visual Storytelling in Theatre & Film. He is a member of the leadership of the Lighting Commission of USITT, and a member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829.
