Q: Is there an audition requirement to be a theatre major or minor at Vanderbilt?
A: No, there is no audition requirement. Students individually audition for each production, and auditions are open to all enrolled students university wide.
Q: Is there a graduate program in theatre?
A: No, we do not offer a graduate degree in theatre at Vanderbilt.
Q: Do you take donations of props, set pieces, or costumes?
A: We accept all of these donations. Please contact Sana Selemon to set up a donation drop-off.
Q: Do you accept submissions of new plays for production consideration?
A: Those interested should contact Sana Selemon with PDF submissions for the following year’s production season.
Q: Can I rent the Neely Auditorium?
A: Unfortunately, Neely Auditorium is fully booked during the academic year for Theatre department productions. During the summer, we have a long-standing rental reservation with Nashville Shakespeare Festival and cannot accommodate additional bookings.
Q: When do tickets go on sale?
A: Tickets for our main-stage productions go on sale typically one month prior to opening night. All ticketing is through the VU Box Office and the Sarratt Box Office.
