Postdoctoral Scholar and Research
Charlie Geyer is a student in the Combined Ph.D. Program in Spanish and Portuguese at Vanderbilt University. He specializes in comparative studies of representations of marginality and abject bodies in contemporary Brazilian literature, Spanish American literature, and Latino literature written in the United States. Other interests include Latin American avant-garde poetry of the 20th century, Boom and Post-Boom narrative, testimonial, memory, and violence in Latin America, and literary and psychoanalytic theory.
