Award Name

E. Inman Fox Award for Excellence in Teaching

Award Description: Endowed in 2006 by James B. Johnson (BA’54) in honor of his classmate E. Inman Fox and his lifelong work in the field of romance languages and literatures. Presented annually to a graduate student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in recognition of superior classroom instruction.

The Department presents the E. Inman Fox Award, and a special inscription on the Department's plaque honoring recipients of this award. A faculty committee is assembled to consider the work of the nominees and makes the award.

Award Name

Miguel Enguídanos Award for Excellence in Research

Award Description: Endowed in 1993 in memory of Miguel Enguídanos, Centennial Professor of Spanish in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese from 1984-1986. Presented annually to a graduate student who has written the best paper or master’s thesis in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.

The Department presents the Miguel Enguídanos Award, and a special inscription on the Department's plaque honoring recipients of this award. This award is given to the best research paper written by a graduate student. A faculty committee is assembled to consider the work of the nominees and makes the award.
