center for innovative technology Center for Innovative Technology  

The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) offers collaborators an extensive lineup of state-of-the-art mass spectrometry instrumentation to enable numerous types of metabolomic analyses. We support investigators in numerous phases of the analytical pipeline and provide a number of services to meet the goals of individual research projects.


VU College of Arts and Science Chemical Storeroom

We are a recharge center that provides chemicals, glassware, and various apparatus items to our customers. We provide services to Vanderbilt University, VUMC, and VA Hospital


VU College of Arts and Science Chemistry X-Ray Diffraction

This core facility contains the Rigaku Smart Lab with Cu Ka X-ray source for Powder X-ray diffraction. Additional features and capabilities can be found on our website. 


VU College of Arts and Science Physics Machine Shop

The Physics Machine Shop is a well-equipped precision machine shop specializing in the manufacture of experimental research parts and devices. 


VU College of Arts and Science Vanderbilt MicroFabrication Core

The Vanderbilt MicroFabrication Core (VMFC), operated by VIIBRE, specializes in the design, fabrication, and production of custom biological microfluidic mechanotronic (BioMicroMech) instruments, with emphasis on hybrid polymeric microfluidic devices with thin-film and optical sensors and computerized fluidic control.
