Neural Dynamics and Cortical Hierarchy
I will describe how the hierarchical signature of inter-areal connections is defined by their integration into the local microcircuit, and how the operation of a functional and structural distance rule defines a hierarchical metric of cortical areas.
Finally, I will show how the strength of these inputs impose important constrains on rhythmic interareal interactions across the cortical network. These results obtained at the macroscale will be placed in the perspective to future cell-level investigations.
