Applying to an F31: Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award

This talk will introduce students to the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA), or F31. The F31 is an NIH-sponsored predoctoral fellowship that provides funding for mentored research training in health-related fields. For PhD students in the Clinical Science track, an F31 application can also be defended as students’ qualifying exam. In this talk, we will discuss the purpose and benefits of the F31 fellowship, the application process, evaluation criteria, and tips for success.
