Ziqi (Joanna) Wang, BA ’25
“As a member of the Bodily Self in the Virtual World Immersion group, I was given opportunities to conduct and showcase my research to the public. These were incredible experiences and laid the groundwork for my interest in pursuing research on bodily self-disturbances and the relationships between body, mind, and self in schizophrenia. Under the guidance and support of Dr. Sohee Park, I took the lead on a research project examining how well people with schizophrenia estimate their bodily boundaries and comparing them with their bodily boundaries as measured in virtual reality. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to share my research at two international conferences: the Society for Research in Psychopathology (SRP) in 2024 and the Schizophrenia International Research Society (SIRS) in 2025.”
Joanna just graduated from Vanderbilt in Cognitive Studies with Honors, Summa Cum Laude. She starts her research assistantship in the Park lab this month. After post-bac research, she will apply for graduate school.
