Vanderbilt University has earned a remarkable achievement by being ranked #8 in the 2025 U.S. News Best Undergraduate Psychology Programs! (Our department is tied at this rank with other excellent programs that include those at Columbia, Cornell and Duke). This ranking highlights the excellence of Vanderbilt’s psychology department, recognizing its dedication to both research and student development. Vanderbilt University was also ranked #8 in the list of colleges and universities that offer students the best value.
In addition, our Graduate Psychology Program has been ranked #12, further cementing Vanderbilt’s reputation for providing top-tier education across all levels of study.
These rankings are based on surveys from department chairs and faculty members on a five-point scale, evaluating the quality of psychology programs across the nation (our department earned a 4.5). Vanderbilt stands out among other excellent institutions for offering a significant number of degrees in psychology, stand out for their innovative approaches, academic rigor, and commitment to student success.
