My research centers on intergenerational and interpersonal normativity, broadly construed. I am interested in what evolution can tell us—or should tell us—about history and the ground of morality, and what we owe, if anything, to future generations and non-human beings. I also explore different forms of moral address and their implications for institutions and political life.
