Graduate Student

Gates is a first-year PhD student primarily interested in ethics and philosophy of art. He is especially interested in questions of normativity, as well as ways in which narrative fiction and film can help shed light on common philosophical debates. He is a member of Minorities and Philosophy (MAP), the Professionalization Committee in the Philosophy Student Government Association, , and is a Russel G. Hamilton Scholar.
