Ismail Kurun, Ph.D. student, wins 2023 Novak Award
Ismail Kurun, Ph.D. student in the Department of Philosophy, won the 2023 Novak Award from the Acton Institute.
Named after the late, distinguished American theologian Michael Novak, the $15,000 award acknowledges new outstanding scholarly research concerning the relationship between religion, economic freedom, and the free and virtuous society. This award recognizes scholars early in their academic careers who demonstrate outstanding intellectual merit in advancing the understanding of religion’s connection to human dignity, the rule of law, limited government, religious liberty, and freedom in economic life.
