Prof. Osin receives Frontiers of Science Award
Denis Osin, along with collaborators Adrian Ioana, Ionut Chifan, and former Vanderbilt graduate student Bin Sun, has been chosen as a recipient of the 2026 Frontiers in Science Award. The award is in recognition of their paper, “Wreath-like products of groups and their von Neumann algebras I: W*-superrigidity,” published in Annals of Mathematics, the top journal in mathematics.
The Frontiers of Science Award, inaugurated in 2023 under the auspices of the International Congress of Basic Science, honors papers from the last 10 years that represent major breakthroughs in their respective fields. The award comes with an invitation to the International Congress of Basic Science in Beijing in August 2026. The Chair of the ICBS Scientific Committee is Fields Medalist Shing-Tung Yau.
Congratulations Denis, Adrian, Ionut, and Bin for this fantastic global recognition!
