Upcoming Shanks Workshop: Dynamical Sampling, Frame Theory, Harmonic Analysis, and Applications
The three-day workshop on “Dynamical Sampling, Frame Theory, Harmonic Analysis, and Applications,” will be held March 1-3, 2024 at Vanderbilt. The conference will focus on two main areas of application: (1) climate and environment and (2) pandemic studies.
This event will coincide with the conclusion of the visits of two mathematicians, Ursula Molter and Carlos Cabrelli, who will be at Vanderbilt in February at part of the Vanderbilt Global Scholars program.
The workshop is sponsored by the Shanks Endowment. This endowment was created by the Shanks family in honor of Eugene Baylis Shanks, the beloved former faculty member, who was Chair of the Department from 1956 to 1969. Among many other achievements, Shanks oversaw the creation of the graduate program in the Department. Read more about the Shanks family here.
