Rudy Saliba is a Ph.D. Candidate in German Studies and joined the Ph.D. program in the Department of German, Russian and East European Studies at Vanderbilt University in 2015. He received his M.A. in German from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. His research interests include aesthetics, German Romanticism, intersections of modern French and German-language literature, the role of myth in modernity, and the relationship between avant-garde art and (especially right-wing) politics of early 20th century Germany. His dissertation “After Idylls: Ernst Jünger’s Concept of Nature” concerns the relation of nature and metafiction in Jünger's later works.
