Hanno Berger studied Film Studies, Literature Studies and Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin and at Paris III – Sorbonne Nouvelle. From 2012 to 2014 he worked at the Collaborative Research Center “Aesthetic Experience and the Dissolution of Artistic Limits” at Freie Universität Berlin. There he took his doctorate in Film Studies in 2017 with a thesis on the possibility of theorizing revolutions with film. He taught courses on film theory, film analysis, film and revolution, and the French cinema of the 1920s. Since April 2017 he is supporting the work on the critical edition of Hannah Arendts Collected Works.
