Her research treats crafting as a woman-centered practice that focuses cultivates our abilities to listen together with<em>\u00a0<\/em>human and more-than-human others. As participants knot together a crochet network, what she calls a \u201csocial sculpture, \u00d8sterggard will demonstrate how costume materialities not only enhance our collaborative relationships but also our experiences of community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The lecture-workshop includes easy, co-creative and playful physical explorations with textile materialities, so please wear comfortable clothing.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Charlotte \u00d8stergaard is a Danish textile artist, costume and fashion designer, author, and researcher, currently visiting U.S. universities with an artistic fellowship from the Danish Arts Foundation. Her artworks have been exhibited in Canada, China, Danmark, Germany, Norway, Russia, Ukraine, and the USA,\u00a0and her work is represented in the museum collection of Danish Designmuseum and The National Gallery of Denmark.
