Congratulations to Vanderbilt Italian Professor Elsa Filosa who was awarded a Global Research & Engagement Micro-Grant for her project co-sponsoring an International Conference at the Florentine Carthusian Monastery.

Carthusian monastery “Certosa di Firenze”, built in the fourteenth century, is located on the summit of Mount Acuto, also called “Holy Mount”, near Galluzzo, a town today part of Florence’s metropolitan area.

The Global Research and Engagement Micro-Grant Program helps faculty pursue international research, scholarship and creative expression projects or to pursue strategic, time-sensitive opportunities for global research and engagement. This program is designed to support smaller scale projects that are not conducive to existing internal funding programs.
