She is the author of two full-length poetry collections, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/nupress.northwestern.edu\/9780810125100\/strangers-notebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stranger\u2019s Notebook<\/a><\/em> (TriQuarterly 2008) and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/tupelopress.org\/bookstore\/p\/kill-class\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kill Class<\/a><\/em> (Tupelo 2019), which was a finalist for the Julie Suk Award and was based on two years of fieldwork conducted across the Middle East and America. Her scholarly monograph, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucpress.edu\/books\/pinelandia\/paper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Pinelandia: An Anthropology and Field Poetics of War and Empire<\/em><\/a> (University of California Press, 2022), was a finalist for the Atelier Prize.<\/p>\n<p>Winner of a Pushcart Prize and a Fulbright, Nomi Stone has published poems in <em>POETRY Magazine<\/em>, <em>American Poetry Review<\/em>, <em>Best American Poetry<\/em>, <em>The Nation<\/em>, <em>The New Republic<\/em>, <em>The Atlantic<\/em>, and widely elsewhere. Her anthropological articles have been recently published in <em>Cultural Anthropology<\/em> and <em>American Ethnologist<\/em>. She has a PhD in Anthropology from Columbia, an MFA in Poetry from Warren Wilson, an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from Oxford. She was a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University, teaching across the anthropology and creative writing departments. A selection from her third volume of poetry, a hybrid collection about queer kinship, <em>You Could Build a World This Way<\/em>, was recently a finalist for the Bull City Press\u2019s chapbook prize, the Chad Walsh Prize, and the Tomasz Salamun Prize.
