He is author of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/611520\/nights-when-nothing-happened-by-simon-han\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nights When Nothing Happened<\/a>\u00a0(Riverhead, 2020). His stories and essays have appeared in The Atlantic, The Texas Observer, Guernica, The Iowa Review, Electric Literature, and LitHub. He has received awards from the MacDowell Colony, the Bread Loaf Writers\u2019 Conference, the Sewanee Writers\u2019 Conference, the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, and Vanderbilt University, where he earned his MFA. A former visiting professor at the University of Tulsa, he currently lives in Carrollton, Texas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leeconell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lee Conell<\/a>\u00a0is the author of the novel\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/624402\/the-party-upstairs-by-lee-conell\/9781984880277\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Party Upstairs<\/a><\/em>, as well as the story collection\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jhupbooks.press.jhu.edu\/content\/subcortical\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Subcortical<\/em><\/a>, which was awarded\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thestoryprize.blogspot.com\/2018\/01\/subcortical-by-lee-conellthis-years.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Story Prize Spotlight Award<\/a>. She has received a 2020 Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as writing fellowships from the Japan-United States Friendship Commission, the Tennessee Arts Commission, the Sewanee Writers\u2019 Conference, Vanderbilt University, and the Yiddish Book Center.
