Sam Rutter

M.F.A. Student (fiction)

Sam Rutter is a first-year M.F.A. student in fiction who hails from Melbourne, Austrailia. He has earned a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Melbourne and has lived in France, Spain, Chile, and Argentina. In addition to writing fiction, Sam has published several translations of contemporart Latin American authors. He was the recipient of a PEN Translates award in 2015 (from the English chapter of PEN). His work can be found in such journals as Meanjin, Overland, and Kill Your Darlngs. He is an assistant fiction editor for the Nashville Review.
