Professor Daughety applies microeconomic theory in the areas of industrial organization and law and economics.  His recent work has concerned: incentives for firms to signal or disclose quality that might otherwise be unobservable by consumers; products liability and safety; how courts aggregate information; litigation funding in the market for legal services; privacy; and informal sanctions and plea bargaining.  He is a former co-editor of the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization and a former associate editor of the RAND Journal of Economics
