The Department of Economics has several gift funds that help support the research activities of doctoral students and undergraduate honors students. Other funds support diverse activities within the Department and provide scholarships for students in the Graduate Program in Economic Development.

2017 GRADUATE STUDENT AWARDS
Walter M. Noel Dissertation Fellowship: Hayri Alper Arslan and Francis Ratsimbazafy
Kirk Dornbush Research Assistantships: Gracie (Hui) Hao (who will work with Professor Kevin Huang) and Tam Vu Thanh Bui (who will work with Professor Pedro Sant'Anna)
Household International Award for Best Research Paper by a Graduate Student: Paul Niekamp
Rendigs Fels Award for Teaching Excellence by a T.A.: Mathew Knudson. Professor Fels was a much loved member of the Vanderbilt faculty and took great pride in our T.A.s.
Dornbush Summer Awards: The recipients of the 2017 Summer Kirk Dornbush Research Awards are Carl (Dong) Cheng; Brandyn Churchill; Terry Kim; Mathew Knudson; Daniel Mangrum; and Qi Xu.
Collaborative Grants: S facilitate the research of a graduate student/faculty member team. In 2017, the team of Kristine Koutout and Professors Andrew Duston and Greg Leo was awarded a collaborative grant by the department.
