In addition to an understanding of the Earth and its processes, an EES major builds essential, marketable skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, data analysis, navigating uncertainty, effective communication, and working with diverse stakeholders.<\/p>\r\n<p>Earth and environmental scientists are in high demand in the following fields:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Environmental consulting for the private sector<\/li>\r\n<li>Renewable energy and sustainability<\/li>\r\n<li>Natural resource exploration and extraction<\/li>\r\n<li>Environmental regulation<\/li>\r\n<li>Park\/museum education and interpretation<\/li>\r\n<li>Government research and field science<\/li>\r\n<li>Environmental advocacy and supporting research<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>EES majors also use their scientific skills and knowledge as a foundation for careers in law, tech, business, policy, education, and medicine.
