Vandy Debate in the Great Debate 2018
To draw attention to broad national issues including criminal justice, civil disobedience and the ethics and the current administration, The Reclamation Center, Inc. and Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church have joined forces to present “The Great Debate – Nashville” on Saturday, February 24, 2017; 1 p.m. at Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church located at 2334 Herman Street, Nashville, TN 37208.
“The Great Debate – Nashville” will be free and open to the public. The Great Debate-Nashville will be between two of Nashville’s flagship institutions, the historically black college, Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University.
This is an exhibition match featuring two local high schools: Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School vs. McGavock High School-Kappa League. The Great Debate – Nashville offers our next generation of leaders the opportunity to discuss the critical issues that are facing young people and our country. Both high school and college students will have the chance to examine these topics through the time-honored tradition of debate.
The Great Debate will be hosted by AG Granderson from Nashville radio station 101.1 The Beat and moderated by Vicki Yates of WTVF NewsChannel 5 Team.
