2021 Cornell Novice Nationals Debate Results

This past weekend, Vanderbilt competed at the 2021 Cornell Novice Nationals, which is the annual novice-only (1st year in college debate) championship tournament for BP debate.

Competing against teams from Cornell, Duke, Penn, Princeton, and Stanford, to name a few, Vanderbilt had two teams finish in the top 16 (Charnes and Kona, Powers and Reddy). In addition, we had 3 speakers (Sam Charnes (11th), Chandu Kona (tied for 15th), and Pipa Powers (tied for 15th) finish as top 15 speakers out of almost 160 debaters.

Next weekend, the team will be competing at the Loyola-Chicago tournament. On March 6-7, we are virtually hosting the 2021 United States Universities Eastern Championships.
