Brown&#8217;s &#8220;Journeys of the Mind&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vanderbilt University Department of Classical and Mediterranean Studies is pleased to present the 2023-2024 distinguished lecture, Book Panel in Honor of Peter R.L. Brown&#8217;s <em>Journeys of the Mind<\/em>. Over the course of six decades, the work of Peter Brown, the Philip and Beulah Rollins Professor of History,\u00a0<em>emeritus\u00a0<\/em>at Princeton University, has defined our understanding of \u201clate antiquity\u201d, the transitional period at the dawn of the Middle Ages. In this panel, five of his former students will respond to Brown\u2019s autobiography,\u00a0<em>Journeys of the Mind\u00a0<\/em>(Princeton University Press, 2023). The Panelists for this event include:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Jelena Bogdanovic\u0301, <\/strong>Vanderbilt University<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Ariel Lo\u0301pez, <\/strong>Rhodes College<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>David Michelson, <\/strong>Vanderbilt University<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Elizabeth Moodey, <\/strong>Vanderbilt University<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Daniel Schwartz, <\/strong>Texas A&amp;M University<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #212121\">Audience members are also invited to bring their questions for Brown, who will respond to the panel via teleconference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This in-person panel will be held at 4:10pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Divinity School G-29 and is free and open to the public.
