Career Outcomes\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies provides an individualized and multidisciplinary undergraduate academic experience that prepares students for a dynamic and evolving job market. Whether they pursue a career in law, business, government, journalism, healthcare, social service, higher education or another field, students will benefit from a stronger understanding of the complex cultural, historical, linguistic, political, and socio-economic contexts that enrich their communities.<\/p>\n

\nB.A., Latin American Studies and Neuroscience, 2021<\/p>\n

I attended Vanderbilt University as a National Merit Semi-Finalist and National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar. In 2019 and 2020, I received the Tennessee Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (TLSAMP) in STEM Grant. During my time at Vanderbilt, I was a Neuroscience Research Assistant in the Levin Lab, a mentor for middle-schoolers with EmbrACE, and President of Women\u2019s Club Volleyball. After graduation, I was offered a Research Assistant position at MDRC, a social policy research organization, in New York City. In this role, I study early childcare and education policies\/programs in underserved and disadvantaged communities.<\/p>\n

Sophia Guzzo<\/strong>
\nB.A., Latino and Latina Studies and Political Science, 2018<\/p>\n

I am entering my third year at Harvard Law School. During my time at Vanderbilt, I spent a semester abroad in Buenos Aires and translated at the school\u2019s immigration clinic. In law school, I am a student mentor through the Board of Student Advisers and an active member of La Alianza, the law school\u2019s Latinx organization. Upon graduating, I will be returning to Miami where I will work for the Miami-Dade County Attorney’s Office.<\/p>\n

I am beginning my career as a consultant Boston Consulting Group\u2019s San Diego offices. At Vanderbilt, I was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, volunteered at the Hispanic Family Foundation, and was a dance choreographer for the annual cultural showcase \u201cCaf\u00e9 con Leche.\u201d In addition, I am a social entrepreneur and founder of Mi Horchater\u00eda, dairy free organic version of horchata, a business I began at Vanderbilt.<\/p>\n
