Directors’ Welcome
We are delighted to welcome you to the Biochemistry & Chemical Biology Program at Vanderbilt. Our program and major spans the Biological Sciences and Chemistry departments within the College of Arts and Science in a highly collaborative and collegial environment. Our mission is for students to gain an excellent education and to carry out high impact research as they prepare for professional school, graduate school, or a variety of careers. Our award-winning faculty are outstanding teachers and internationally recognized researchers spanning many disciplines, including biochemistry, chemical biology, chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and pharmacology. Our students receive broad interdisciplinary training; they have an established track record of achievement through awards and fellowships; and they obtain positions in a variety of acclaimed graduate and professional programs. Many affiliated faculty maintain close ties with our internationally renowned Vanderbilt School of Medicine and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, allowing students access to a variety of research programs on campus.
