"Studying in Berlin was one of the best experiences of my life.
Never have I been to a more fascinating city than Berlin --- in the past sixty years it has served as a capital to a fascist dictatorship, a communist “democracy,” and a modern democratic nation ---
the historical remnants of these periods of German history make the city unbelievably important.
The experience of living with other Vanderbilt students was great because I met and bonded with people I probably would not have otherwise met.
Berlin is quite simply my favorite place in the world. I wish I was there right now.”

"My experience in Germany studying the German language and German history was utterly unforgettable and has totally reshaped the way I see the world.
My friends and family are probably getting pretty tired of hearing my constant references to “the way they do things in Germany,” but I can’t seem to stop talking about it!
The program was just long enough for me to really feel at home in Berlin instead of feeling like a tourist.
As much as I enjoy taking German at Vanderbilt, I learned more doing little things like grocery shopping or navigating the public transportation system in Berlin than I have from any class."
