Victoria Hensley
Mellon Assistant Professor of Culture, Advocacy, and Leadership
Victoria Hensley is an active historic preservationist and public historian. She graduated from MTSU’s Public History program with emphases in historic preservation, urban history, and the material culture of the American South. She also studied at the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Art’s Summer Institute where she was awarded the Brockman Fellowship. Hensley previously served as a city planner with the City of Franklin and as a postdoctoral research with the Robert Penn Warren Center for Humanities. Her research focuses on the legacy of residential segregation and grassroots preservation efforts, particularly in Nashville.
