If you meet the conditions, you should complete the following procedures by the second Friday in April prior to the summer session you plan to attend:

  1. Print and complete the “Petition for Summer Courses Taken Elsewhere” form following the instructions below. Dean Yollette Jones will review your petition; you do not need to meet with her at this point.
  2. Bring the completed form, course descriptions and syllabi for all courses you plan to take to 350 Buttrick Hall. (Course descriptions and syllabi may often be found on the school’s website.)
  3. After Dean Jones has approved your petition, you will receive an email from our office asking you to pick up the form. Take the form to the Directors of Undergraduate Studies of the appropriate departments to have the proposed course(s) evaluated. Return the completed form to 350 Buttrick Hall.
  4. Certain Chemistry and Physics courses have already been pre-approved by those departments. If your courses are on the pre-approved list, you will not need to pick up the form.
