American Philosophical Society
Phillips Fund for Native American Research
Deadline: 3/1/2013
Provides up to $3,500 over one year for research in Native American linguistics and ethnohistory in the continental U.S. and Canada. Program will not support work in archaeology, ethnography, psycholinguistics, or the preparation of pedagogical materials. Covers travel, tapes, and informants' fees, but not general maintenance or equipment purchase. Preference will be given to young Ph.D. scholars, but applications are also accepted for support of master's theses or doctoral dissertations.

Early American Industries Association
Research Grants Program (Graduate Students and Scholars)
Deadline: 3/15/2013
Supports research or publication projects relating to the study and better understanding of early American industries in homes, shops, farms, or on the sea. Eligibility is limited to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Funding may be used for publications, exhibitions, or audio-visual materials. Awards are up to $2,000 each.

Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues
Applied Social Issues Internship Program
Deadline: 4/25/2013
Provides awards ranging from $300 to $2,500 to graduate students and first-year postdoctoral researchers in psychology, applied social science, and related areas, for social issues research in cooperation with a community or government organization, public interest group, or other not-for-profit organization that will benefit from the project. Association for the Sociology of Religion
Fichter Research Grants (Research on Women and Religion)
Deadline: 5/1/2013
Supports scholars involved in the area of women and religion; this includes religion and gender issues and feminist perspectives on religion. Dissertation research qualifies for funding, and travel assistance is also available. Scholars at the beginning of their careers are particularly encouraged to apply. Membership is required for consideration.

Supports research in social problem areas related to the basic interests and goals of SPSSI, particularly those that are not likely to receive support from traditional sources. Awards are up to $1,000 for graduate research. Graduate research requires match. Applicants must be SPSSI members.
