Helena Dagadu

Helena Dagadu received her B.A. in Psychology and Classical Civilization from Loyola University Maryland in 2003 and her MPH in Global Health Policy from George Washington University in 2006. She is currently a fellow at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy at Meharry Medical College. Her major research interests include health inequalities, race and ethnicity, international migration, and population health. A major focus of her work is investigating the diversity of black populations. Her current work interrogates how social and demographic changes, particularly those due to immigration, challenge traditional understandings and conceptualizations of race and ethnicity, racial and ethnic identity, and health inequalities in the United States.
