AXLE -- Achieving Excellence in Liberal Education -- the undergraduate curriculum in the College of Arts and Science focuses on the development of critical thinking and research skills, as well as writing.
The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons at Vanderbilt
The Ingram Commons brings all first-year students together in ten Houses on one of the most historic and picturesque areas of the Vanderbilt campus. Students have numerous opportunities to meet and to personally know the faculty who live in The Ingram Commons as well as other distinguished professors, speakers, and professionals that Vanderbilt attracts to its campus. The Ingram Commons balances the dynamic energies of a major research university with the collegiate sense of community.
