Bitcast, an online service created by Vanderbilt junior Zach Sherman, took home the top prize at this weekend’s 48 Hour Launch business-plan competition. Bitcast is an online marketplace that generates web development and design tutorials. Through a partnership with Vanderbilt Managerial Studies and the Entrepreneur Center, Zach will receive $5,000 in cash and $5000 in services provided by the Entrepreneur Center.
Sean Moynahan, Marc Rosen, and Gianfranco Scipioni’s Era of Man, an online retailer of male skin and body products, took home the $2500 second-place prize.
The $1000 third-place award was given to John Zhang’s GifBox, a platform that provides users and easy way to send gifts to friends and family electronically.
All fifteen participating teams presented innovative ideas, and showed once again what a creative and thriving undergraduate community Vanderbilt has to offer.
