Vanderbilt University offers a living/learning residential option for students who are enthusiastic about practicing their French and learning more about francophone cultures of the world.  Every year the French Hall has a resident exchange student from France.

Concours de Poésie
The Concours is held each fall. Students from all levels of undergraduate French courses are encouraged to work with their professors on a short poem in French and to read it aloud at the Concours. Certificates and prizes are awarded.

Wachs essay and creative writing competition is held each spring. Students from all levels of undergraduate French courses are encouraged to submit original work and/or revised work done for a course.

Pi Delta Phi
Pi Delta Phi aims to recognize and report merit in the study of French language, literature and civilization speaking among American students is to promote the development of links between the peoples of America and those of the French language.

C.C.I.P.
Students who take French 204 (French for Business) or French 205 (Medical French) are eligible to take the CCIP (Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris) exam and earn an official French diploma in these fields.
