Holly Tucker is Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University,where she holds appointments in the Department of French & Italian and the Center for Medicine, Health & Society.

Tucker’s research interests are in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century medicine and culture. She is author of two books: Blood Work:  A Tale of Medicine & Murder in the Scientific Revolution (W.W. Norton) and Pregnant Fiction: Childbirth & the Fairy Tale in Early-Modern France (Wayne State UP).  Professor Tucker is currently writing a book on science and terror in Revolutionary France.

In addition to her scholarly books and articles, Tucker’s writing also has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the New Scientist, the Christian Science Monitor, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
