About Me

Carlos Amado, a native of Guatemala is a PhD Candidate in French Literature.  He completed a BA in International Development and an MA in French Studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and also earned an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.

His current research interests are centered on questions of identity, immigration and depictions of strangers and foreigners in contemporary French literature as well as issues of cultural and class struggle.  He is also interested in comparative studies of 20th Century Latin American and French literary works.
